Does anyone know where i can find many finance jobs where i do not have to go through recruitment agencies and can submit my cv for jobs directly to the employer?
Type into google or yahoo search the sector of finance you wish to go into and apply directly through the company websites. There are loads and the questions are open so I suggest that you do an answer sheet in word and adapt them to fit each question.

Try the websites of employers. Many of them list available positions.

Your local newspaper will carry many local jobs placed directly by the company.

You have some great suggestions, but try making a list of target companies first from yell.com and something like Kelly’s Directory. Then go to the websites of each and see if they have an employment section.
The problem with going via job boards, recruiters or the employers own website is that its easier to reject an anonymous email (which is what your application will be seen as), over a human being. So try either calling first using a technique called the Informational Interview, or even better attend some local networking events for the local IFA society or group.
Good Luck!

Most Companies would either go through an Agency, Job Centre or Advertise in a local paper.
In the Finance industry, most go through an agency. Why? There are a lot of Monkeys out there and the Agencies provide a filtering process that gets you the right person for the job.

Hi David, In my experience recruitment agencies are only used in an emergency. I recommend that, as already suggested, you pick and choose a few likely employers in your local area. Research, public library is a good place to start, find out the history of the company, its main line of business. Write to a named person, if possible, giving your reasons for wishing to work for that company, how your skills will be of benefit, and ask to be considered should any suitable vacancy occur in the near future.
