ATTN: Medical Coders!? help me make a life decision!?
Or anyone with a cent or two to add to the subject-

A local private college offers a program for Medical Billing and Coding with 100% job placement. I think I’m gonna go for it, if anything to get into a secure field.

Do you feel this career choice to be "recession proof"?

Do you know how the money one can make at this is? Is it pretty comfortable?

Would this job be something that you would be proud of yourself for?

I’d like to know what other programs you may recommend more highly than the coding program if you feel it isn’t a wise choice.

    Thanks everyone.

I am taking online courses right now ( actually I am doing 3 different courses) I am doing Medical claims and billing, medical Transcription, medical and dental assistant. i’ve did alot of research on this subject and yes I think the jobs are recession proof. Almost all the nursing field is recession proof. Coding is in pretty good demand right now. You can take coding through online classes. Yes I would be proud of myself if I was doing this as a career. I think coding is a great choice or you can do Medical transcription, medical billing, CNA or Phlebotomy. Theres alot of choices! If thecollege guarantee’s you a 100% job placement than you definetly need to do it. That is great. Good luck!
